Torremolinos
Torremolinos is also very lively, especially in the summer, as it is one of the most visited towns on the Costa del Sol. Many Brits have settled in Torremolinos, and there is of course a good reason for that.
The town is very centrally located on the Costa del Sol, and from Torremolinos you can easily get around by public transport. You can hop on the train from Malaga to Fuengirola right in the centre of Torremolinos and arrive in Malaga or Fuengirola in just 15 minutes.
If you are not interested in public transport and would rather drive yourself, you can easily take the motorway from Torremolinos to reach the surrounding towns.
Torremolinos has around 70,000 inhabitants, of which around 75% are Spanish. As mentioned, the city is very popular with tourists, but that doesn't mean the cost of living has skyrocketed. You can easily go out to eat or to a café for a very low price compared to Britain.
The promenade stretches for 6 kilometres and goes all the way to Benalmadena, the neighbouring town on the west side.
This is a nice and pleasant walk that you must experience if you like walking along the water.
Property for sale in Costa del Sol Torremolinos, is among the lowest price on the coast. The average price for properties for sale in Torremolinos is lower than its neighbour cities.
Benalmadena
Benalmadena has several different neighbourhoods, each with its own attractions.
You will find the old town, which is called Benalmadena Pueblo. This part of the town is very secluded and here you can really feel the Spanish atmosphere, and this is also where most Brits in Benalmadena live.
Here you will also find the Scandinavian rehabilitation centre Montebello.
The area around the beach in Benalmadena is called Benalmadena Costa, and here you also get the feeling of a Spanish holiday resort.
The harbour in Benalmadena Costa is one of the finest on coast and there is a wide range of restaurants, cafés and other entertainment that will appeal to the whole family, whatever your age.
If you still want to stay close to the water, but don't want to live in an area where all the tourists hang out, there are also areas like Torrequebrada and Torremuelle in Benalmadena.
These areas are very attractive and have one of the most popular golf courses in the area. If you are looking for a nice apartment on the Costa del Sol, we recommend looking in this area.
The center of Benalmadena is called Arroyo de la Miel.
In Benalmadena you can find all kinds of property for sale, including villas, townhouses and apartment. Buying a property in Benalmadena is a good investment.
Fuengirola
Buy a holiday home on the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola, if you want to socialise with other Brits and Scandinavians down here. There are many properties for sale in Fuengirola.
Fuengirola is the city on the Costa del Sol with the most Scandinavian residents and a lot of British people reside here as well, and that's understandable.
Fuengirola has miles of beaches, some of the most beautiful on the Costa del Sol, and has some of Spain's best seafood restaurants.
If you like to party and dance, Fuengirola also has a lively nightlife where you can party until sunrise, but you can also find places where you can sit and have a quiet glass of wine in good company.
Los Boliches is one of the most popular areas in Fuengirola. Many consider it the best area of the town, because you are close to the beach and in walking distance to the center, but still far away from the noise of the center and the tourists.
A Los Boliches property is surrounded by amenities and many of the apartments have a community pool.
Although the city is one of the main tourist attractions in southern Spain, it also has other things to offer. There are many cultural things to experience in the old fishing village.
Mijas
Mijas is one of the largest areas of the coast that we operate in, which is why you'll also find many Costa del Sol properties for sale.
Mijas is a very attractive area and whether you are interested in a quiet Spanish atmosphere or hustle and bustle, you can find it in the municipality of Mijas.
The old town of Mijas Pueblo is also known as the white town, because all the houses are white, and the municipality requires that they are not painted in any other color.
Mijas is about 30 kilometers west of Malaga, and the Pueblo is opposite Fuengirola. Mijas was one of the first towns on the Costa del Sol to start welcoming tourists back in the 1960s.
Mijas is also home to Mijas Costa, which is the beachfront area. Here you will find more tourist attractions and more action. The stretch called Mijas Costa is 12 kilometers long and stretches from Fuengirola to Cabopino, which is the border with Marbella.
The Mijas area is the place after Marbella with the most golf courses in its area. There are a whopping 12 golf courses in this region, so you'll have plenty of time to spare if you like to play golf.
There's a lot of golf properties for sale in Mijas.
Marbella
Marbella municipality is also a large area with a wide range of property types. Marbella is home to around 143,000 people, many of whom are non-Spanish.
You may have heard of Marbella before and know it as the wealthy area on the sun coast, and there may be something about it. There are many fine apartments and luxury villas for sale in Marbella.
It also means that you can expect to pay a bit more than in the other cities when you go out to eat or the like. However, it is still lower than the prices in certain British areas.
Marbella is also known by many golf enthusiasts, as there are many golf courses in the area that attract people mainly from the northern parts of Europe. This means, that if you are looking for golf properties for sale in Marbella, its easy to find, but the prices can be high.
Marbella has an old town that is very special. In the middle of the old town is Plaza de los Naranjos, or in English "the orange square".
Dating back to 1485, the square is filled with orange trees that make the square smell deliciously of oranges. Around the square you will find some of the coziest restaurants and cafés, where you can feel the Spanish atmosphere while enjoying a cup of coffee, a cold beer or a glass of wine.
Marbella is also home to the Nueva Andalucía area, where Puerto Banus is also located. This is where the jet-set is, and it's almost impossible to take a walk without seeing Lamborghinis, Ferraris and big yachts.
If you're looking for a large villa and pure luxury, this is the area for you.
